Hi folks!
After a bit of a hiatus, caused mostly by the confluence of:
- Changing jobs (still in progress)
- Christmas (still in progress)
- Wedding planning (still in progress)
- Winter darkness (still in progress)
I’m making a concerted effort to return, and catch up with all these missed posts!
Starting with my November Cocktail of the Month!
It’s my…
Winter Sangria!
Spanish inspired, but also an-opened-bottle-of-red’s-been-sitting-there inspired!
75ml red wine (I used Chateauneuf du Pape, because I’m fancy, but whatever)
25ml Campari
25ml King’s Ginger (or other ginger liqueur)
75ml tonic water
ice
flamed orange peel
The Campari provides the familiar ‘sangria’ flavour through the bite of bitter orange, while the ginger lends a welcome spicy warmth. I feel like this would work warm, particularly if strengthened by increasing the wine to tonic ratio, then stick it in the microwave (in a mug, please don’t sue me for exploding glassware).
Otherwise, enjoy, my lovelies!
Winter love
